International roaming will be activated automatically when you arrive at your destination, <\/span>however <\/span>you will need to <\/span>turn <\/span>MOBILE DATA to <\/b><\/span>ENABLE <\/b><\/span>and DATA <\/b><\/span>ROAMING <\/b><\/span>to O<\/b><\/span>N<\/b><\/span> <\/b>in your <\/span>phone <\/span>settings. <\/span>Before you do PLEASE carefully read the advisory notice: \u2018<\/span>IMPORTANT things to remember when using <\/b><\/span>Backchat <\/b><\/i><\/span>Mobile<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span> <\/b><\/i> <\/b>internationally\u2019<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We offer fixed roaming charges which cost $30 <\/span>+GST<\/span> for every 14 days. <\/span>This includes the following: 300 minutes of calls 300 texts and 2 Gb of data. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

We recommend you <\/span>set aeroplane mode, then <\/span>enable <\/span>WiFi and <\/span>WiFi calling on your device when you have free WiFi available. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

As per the regulations of the Government of India, a customer of an overseas carrier is not allowed to roam in Jammu and Kashmir. As such Backchat Mobile customers in those regions will be unable to use roaming services.   1. International mobile use can seriously dent your wallet! Please remember these tips at all times to avoid bill shock!<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  2. International roaming data and calling isn’t unlimited as you may be used to in NZ. <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  3. Data packs are added in 2Gb increments, the first three are automatic but then they have to be manually ordered from us.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  4. It is strongly recommended<\/u> customers turn MOBILE DATA to DISABLE and DATA ROAMING to OFF unless required. <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  5. Ensure you disable all apps you do not require when travelling internationally to NOT use mobile data. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

    Mobiles and apps frequently <\/i>receiv<\/i>e<\/i> PUSH data – incoming emails or updates, picture txt’s etc. <\/i>or <\/i>automated uploads of pictures to say Google, Apple etc <\/i>all of which is happening in the back<\/i>ground without you knowing!<\/i> Using your phone as a WiFi <\/i>hotspot <\/i>will also bypass any upload and download restrictions set on your device! <\/i>Policing mobile data or <\/i>importantly knowing what <\/i>apps are doing in the background is a virtual impossibility. End users <\/i>generally <\/i>don’t <\/i>have a clue w<\/i>hat data their phone or apps are using and we <\/i>providers <\/i>have no method of exercising control . <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ol>
